Open Events

When you sign up for IlliniFest, you'll register for all the events you're planning to attend the day of the big event and will receive an agenda via email. These events don't require registration, so if you have some free time in your schedule, we encourage you to check them out, too!

Bienvenidos! Bem-vindo! Welcome to La Casa!	11:00a–2:00p	La Casa Cultural Latina	Welcome to La Casa Cultural Latina! Join us to learn more about our programs, explore the space, and connect with professional & student staff at La Casa.
BNAACC Open House	11:00a–3:00p	Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center	An opportunity for students to come to the Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center for a tour of the building, to meet students, and learn all that BNAACC has to offer!
Campuswide Scavenger Hunt	10:00a–3:00p	Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion	Explore historical and cultural sites around campus during the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Scavenger Hunt. Participate by visiting and taking pictures at places that represent and celebrate the diversity of Illinois. When completed, visit our office for an Illinois souvenir!
College of Nursing Visiting Hours	10:00a–2:00p	College of Nursing	Urbana Campus Director Krista Jones will be onsite to answer questions, provide tours, and more!
International Education (IE) and Diversity & Social Justice Education (DSJE) Open House	2:00p–4:00p	University YMCA	This is a joint open house for students to learn about International Education (IE) and Diversity & Social Justice Education (DSJE). There will be international snacks and small activities for students and family members to explore.
Japan House Open House	11:00a–3:00p	Japan House	Japan House welcomes students and families to experience a Japanese tea ceremony, meet four visiting artists from Japan, and view the facility and gardens. This is a great chance to learn about Japan House's opportunities for programming, university courses, and workshops focusing on Japanese arts and aesthetics. Walk-ins and observers are welcome but tea ceremony tickets are $16/person and can be purchased online (with limited ticket quantities available at the door where space allows).
University Library Tours	1:00p–4:00p	Main Library	The Main Library will be offering 30-minute guided tours to prospective students and their families.
Lunch in Private Certified Housing: Presby Hall	10:00a–2:00p	Presby Hall	Visit Presby Hall to see an example of a private certified housing facility and dine in their dining room. Rates are $10/person.
Lunch in Private Certified Housing: Bromley Hall	10:30a–2:00p	Bromley Hall	Visit Bromley Hall to see an example of a private certified housing facility and dine in their dining room. Rates are $10/person.
Lunch in University Housing: SDRP	11:00a–1:30p	Student Dining & Residential Programs Building (Ikenberrry Commons North)	Join us for lunch in the Ikenberry Dining Center. Today's menu can be found on the University Housing website. We're a cashless operation but are happy to take credit card or Apple/Google Pay at the checker stand. Rates are $10.50/person with proof of IlliniFest participation.
Lunch in University Housing: ISR	11:00a–1:30p	Illinois Street Residence Hall	Join us for lunch in our newest and largest university-owned dining center. Today's menu can be found on the University Housing website. We're a cashless operation but are happy to take credit card or Apple/Google Pay at the checker stand. Rates are $10.50/person with proof of IlliniFest participation.
Lunch in Private Certified Housing: Hendrick House	11:00a–2:00p	Hendrick House	Visit Hendrick House to see an example of a private certified housing facility and dine in their dining room for free with tour.
