Dates & Deadlines
Get familiar with our application filing period, priority filing period, and admission notification dates.
Application Filing Period
September 1, 2013 – January 2, 2014
We need to receive all supporting documents (application fee and test scores) by January 12.
Spring 2014: September 1, 2013– October 15, 2013
Fall 2014: September 1, 2013 – March 1, 2014
If you are applying as an incoming sophomore transfer for Fall 2014 Admission, we strongly recommend applying after the completion of your Fall 2013 courses.
Priority Filing Period
September 1 – November 1, 2013
To apply during the Priority Filing Period, a complete application must be submitted online by midnight Central time on November 1. All supporting documents (application fee and test scores) must be postmarked or received by November 1. Completing the application during the Priority Filing Period may give you an advantage when space is limited.
Applications will be designated as received during the Priority Filing Period once the entire application file has been completed and processed. Please allow up to 10 business days for processing time.
As an applicant, it is your responsibility to know the application requirements and to submit the necessary materials. Also, it is important to note that if you apply or submit supporting materials right at the application deadline, you are at risk to receive a later admission decision, especially if you have international credentials since they require additional processing.
Fall Transfer Applicants
September 1, 2013 – February 1, 2014
The transfer application and all supporting materials must be received in our office by February 1 to meet the priority deadline. If space is limited, priority may be given to applicants who meet the deadline. Notification of admission decisions will vary depending on the college and major. The typical notification time for fall transfer applicants is by mid-April.
There are two admissions notification dates: December 13, 2013, and February 14, 2014.
If you apply during the Priority Filing Period, you can view your admission status online on December 13, 2013. Students who have been admitted will receive official notification letters; students who have been deferred or denied will only be able to view their admission decision online.
In some cases an application decision will be deferred, and a final admission decision will not be available until the second notification date of February 14. Should this be the case, there is no need for you to submit a program change request, as you are still being reviewed for your requested program. If your application becomes complete after November 1, or you are deferred on December 13, you will be notified of a decision on February 14.
- Students applying to Theatre Foundation and Dance: The final notification date will be March 15, 2014.
- Students applying to Music: Priority filing does not apply to music applicants. You will be notified by March 15, 2014.
If you apply for Spring 2014 entry, you will be notified of a decision by mid-December 2013. If you apply for Fall 2014 entry, you will be notified of a decision by mid-April 2014.
